Who I Am

A Note from Tony

After spending 25 years building engineering teams, scaling distributed systems, and leading startups to successful acquisitions, I realized something was fundamentally broken in how companies buy technical help.

Founders and engineering leaders were forced to choose between massive consultancies that optimized for billable hours, or offshore teams that shipped fast but built compounding technical debt. There was no clean option for a company that just needed a seasoned technical leader to drop in, diagnose the rot, fix the architecture, and leave the team better than they found it.

I built Airwave Tech to be the exact technical partner I always wanted when I was scaling companies. No account managers. No inflated retainers. Just direct, accountable engineering leadership.

The Structural Fallacy

Why the traditional agency model is strategically designed to fail you.

The Heavyweight Consultancy

They pitch you the decorated generals, but deploy the unseasoned infantry to the front lines. It is asymmetric warfare against your budget: they treat symptoms slowly, maximizing billable hours without ever resolving the underlying architectural rot.

The Risk: Death by Administrative Drag

The Offshore Code Mill

The low hourly rate projects a high-value, rapid velocity return. In reality, you are trading capital for an exhausting operational tax. Without embedded architectural leadership, you are forced to micromanage every single ticket just to keep the system from fracturing.

The Risk: Exhausting Micromanagement

The Diagnostic Retainer

I do not sell hours. I sell survival and operational velocity. By operating as a single, hardened practitioner, I eliminate the noise. I diagnose the failing system, define the exact tactical remediation, and execute the code myself. Absolute accountability. Zero administrative drag.

Principal & Fractional CTO

Developer, architect, ops lead, VP, CTO, co-founder. I have been on every side of the problem since 1997.

I scaled infrastructure to 2 billion daily requests at a $750M exit. Raised venture capital and built an engineering team from zero as a co-founder. Rebuilt deployment pipelines at a publicly traded FinTech. Engineered internal platforms at an Alphabet subsidiary.

I join your team the same way any new engineer would. I read the codebase, attend the standups, and earn trust through pull requests, not job titles.
